House Type: Condominium
ID Firm: Y-Axis ID
Designer(s): Karen Goh
Budget: $30k - $40k
Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?
Yes. We spoke to a few IDs and Karen was able to grasp the design concept we have in mind. She will sketch out our design concepts during our discussions which allows us to visualize the ideas that we had. Most of the other IDs we spoke to only did space planning using layout plans which wasn't very useful. She also provides very practical and useful advice on certain designs that we were looking at. It has been a good experience working with her.
What advice would you give to future homeowners?
Do online research on the theme of the design. A picture tells a thousand words so it is easier to show your ID a picture of similar designs to explain what you have in mind. Be open and speak to as many IDs as possible. You will learn something new from every ID you talk to which helps to evaluate the ID that will be able to meet your needs. Ask to view completed projects to look at the workmanship.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?
Firstly, I would say it is good to have a financial plan for you renovation. It is good to ask for quotation from different ID companies and see what they have to offer before deciding on an ID. Secondly, it is good if you could research on materials used and timeless designs for your home. It would be beneficial as you would know what you want and what to expect. And lastly, be happy.
