Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

My ID, Kelvin Tan, is very a professional consultant, in providing very good consultation and design services for my new house. Knowing I do not have much ideas for the type of design of my house, he understands my preferences and show me photos of his company's past projects to let me have more ideas to suit my preferences. He discussed detailed design with me, gave me useful advice on the materials to use, and provided a very detailed schedule for my renovation even though I did not renovate the whole house. During renovation, he made sure that the correct materials were delivered and of good conditions and quality before starting any renovation and carpentry works. If there is any material that is incorrect or of unacceptable condition, he will get the contractors to change immediately and informed me of the situation first hand. He frequently sent me photos of the progress of the renovation to give me the assurance of the progress. Even till the completion of renovation and handing over, he made sure that the house is cleaned and tidy before it is handed back to me. There is no hidden cost, and he explained to me all the items that is included in the renovation cost, and will inform me there will be extra cost if there is any extra work needed. Any cost of extra works were also shown to me based on itemized costs; hence I am assured of what I am paying for. I really have a very pleasant experience with my ID, and the company as a whole.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Choose the design that you like instead of following what others do. In the end, you are the ones living in your house. Hence, you need to make sure the design suits you and you are comfortable with it. IDs can give advice, but ultimately, you are the one who make the decision.

Yes. William is very patient and understanding. The renovation process from start to end was very smooth and good. The quality of work and down to the minute details are great. Definitely recommended.

Well planned and timely. The quality of work put into the renovation is great. Issues will be remedied without problems. The interior designer was very friendly and helpful.

William is a very honest, responsible and responsive ID. Working with him throughout the whole renovation process has been a breeze as he gives very sound advice and is very prompt in replying to our queries. He also is not pushy, unlike other IDs, and will advice us on what's practical for our house. Finally, he's willing to get his hands dirty by stepping in to help us with our renovation even though it's not expected of him. Highly recommended.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Go to a company with case trust certification, such that there will be proper paperwork and documentation for your renovation. Make sure you have a budget and stick to it because it's easy to get carried away and end up spending unnecessary money.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

My designer was very helpful, thoughtful and friendly. She would constantly provide suggestions and constructive criticism on layout, placement, colours and material of items. She carried out the whole project in a prompt manner without and worry on my part. Her 3D picture of the rooms were especially detailed and well done. Workmanship was good with the budget I had.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Future homeowners should also have a good idea of the kind of house you want and also to have an open mind regarding materials and layout of the renovation.

William is an innovative, patient and reliable designer, which is all you can ask for really. He is prompt to respond to any questions the homeowner has and able to guide the design conversation to productive outcomes.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Selecting the right designer/firm to work with is half the battle won. Having the right budget and working within it is the other half. That is all the advice I have to give.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

This designer has ideas and is very mindful about customer's likes and dislikes. He is patient and very committed to doing and seeing that the job is well delivered by the contractors. A very knowledgeable and hands-on person, he does not over promised and realistic about problems that customers has to face during certain phase of the renovation, for example the dust, smell and the noise during the parquet flooring repair. A very mindful and courteous young man whom I (have already and) am ready to recommend to any of my friends doing renovation without hesitation.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Always choose a considerate, experienced, courteous and 'humble' (one with a listening ear) designer and an approved (Case Trust) contractor.

Yes. She is very professional, managed the complete renovation project with full life cycle. She understood my needs, made recommendation according to my budget limit.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Start earlier. It takes time to find your idea contractor, and communicate your needs and expectation. Popular renovation firms may be fully booked in peak seasons.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Yes, she is very dedicated with her work, efficient and gives good advice on colour matching. When I wanted my gate to be golden, Pei Pei tactfully explained to me that no doubt gold can match all colours, but a better choice will still be bronze given the Colour of my door, and with that she even showed me pictures. I agree finally and now my door looks Super welcoming. Thanks!

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Plan and work according to your budget, the ID's advise would be invaluable as he / she had the experience to design accordingly. And most of the ideas makes sense.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

William was sincere, attentive and able to provide technical know-how to design and build our home. The whole renovation experience was rewarding, as William was really professional and frequently went the extra miles for us. He was willing to get his hands dirty unlike most interior designers. The quotations and agreement provided to us are detailed, transparent and easy to understand. There wasn't any gimmicks and we did not need to worry about any hidden cost. To be honest, his price range is slightly higher than the normal renovation contractors, but it is still a lot lower than those big interior design firms. We are glad that we had chosen William because of the excellent service provided. In short, he is providing an interior design firm experience with price point nearer to a renovation contractor.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Always factor in the level of service you wanted when you are comparing quotations. From what I understood, the bulk of the pricing went to labour by the workers and the service provided by the interior designer, the 'human element'. It is worth to pay a little more to engage with a reliable interior designer who is flexible and willing to go the extra miles to attend to your needs. In short, the common saying, 'you get what you paid for' could not be more true.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Was there something you really liked about this designer? (min 150 characters) I do not know Daphne at all and just took a shot in the dark to appoint her as our designer and contractor to renovate our kitchen and 2 toilets. On our first meeting, she struck me to be a sincere and practical person and one who knows the work well. Therefore I decided to appoint her company to do my project without even checking with other contractors or friends. She proves to be trustworthy and is responsive and caring to small details and she ensured that our project is completed without much delay, knowing that we lived in throughout the renovation.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Timeline is only good if the designer ensures that their contractors are diligent and completes the work as required. Responsiveness and quality workmanship are a must. Importantly is the person-in-charge i.e. the designer has eye for details and is always at the site to give instructions and details before the workmen starts to do their part. This helps to save unnecessary delay and re-work. After sales service is also important – some contractors could not be bothered to attend to defects after the renovation!

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

William Ng understood my requirements and provided the desired design plan, proposed suggestions to improve space usage for the kitchen. William also coordinated the home renovations well with the contractors ensuring timely handover. His attention on details minimised the need to make rectifications to the carpentry works. The catalyst for the decision to use Space N Living was William's sincerity, patience and willingness to point out unsuitable design which we would have proposed.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Space N Living has provided the detailed time line for the renovations and as homeowner, we could monitor the progress of each stages. This will effectively prevent major rectifications should there be notable defects. Of course, any homeowners would desire renovation costs to be lower but it should be noted that it is better not to be penny wise pound foolish.
