ID Firm: Space Define Interior
Designer(s): Chris
Budget: $50k - $60k
Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?
Chris is very friendly, responsible, accommodating, and always on time on agreed meeting time. He was very helpful through our discussion by giving me the honest opinion whether the design or material match the theme. I've been engaged with 2 other interior design companies and only Chris who's able to design based on my preference. 10/10 after sales support even though a little bit pricey.
What advice would you give to future homeowners?
Choose a friendly designer who can talk to you comfortably in order to understand your preference. Regular monitoring during the renovation since the renovation team was not working full time.

ID Firm: Space Define Interior
Designer(s): Purple Yong
Budget: $40k - $50k
Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?
The one thing I liked most about Space Define is their great after service support. They were able to come down as soon as they can to rectify issues without complaints, even after payment has been done. This is very important to show that they are sincere in keeping a long term relationship with their clients.
What advice would you give to future homeowners?
Need monitoring on the work as there are some minor quality issues but good thing is they pick up and mend them quickly. Pricing quite high amongst competitors.

Designer(s): Ethan
Budget: $30k - $40k
Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?
Ethan was patient during our discussions and he always share his honest views on the things we want (whether it is cost-effective and whether it is a necessary item). We appreciate Ethan for helping us to manage our furniture/air con installation along with other stuff while we are preparing for our newborn arrival. He has been helpful since the start of the renovation and he will try to help us as much as possible since he knows we are quite busy and we are grateful for that.
What advice would you give to future homeowners?
Allocate more time after renovation is completed to move in personal belongings and getting the necessities ready before move-in. Also, plan properly on when to shift in the furniture or personal belongings so that there will not be any clash of schedule and you will have ample of time to do unpacking and tidying of the new place before official move in.

Budget: $40k - $50k
Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?
Ethan is highly dedicated to our project, he personally sees through and inspects the progress of the renovation and instructs corrections if things are not done based on our agreed design. He has good technical skills which makes it easy for us to communicate our design and ideas. Very responsive and does not make excuses, will redo the renovation works to our satisfaction.
What advice would you give to future homeowners?
Engaging an ID is like committing in a short term relationship, it is important that you feel trust, comfort and confidence in the ID. Therefore it is always ideal to firstly have a general idea of your preferred design concept be it being a minimalist or an elegant baroque, consult more than a couple of design firms so as to compare your feel for different IDs and to get a market feel of the price for your renovation. Also be realistic about your expectations vs your budget.
