Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Having spoken to numerous ID firms and designers, we found Alvin the most sincere and experienced, while providing value for money services. We had very specific ideas to how our home should look like and feel like and he was able to accommodate to each and every request. In addition, we had a very tight timeline of 5 weeks to complete the renovation works, which were quite extensive, and he was able to get his team together to help us achieve the deadline. Even at the end of the contract, Alvin was happy to see to minor adjustments and patch-up work until everything was to our satisfaction.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Do your homework! Bring your floor plan to at least 3 IDs and get their quotations - compare these with the suggested layouts carefully, you would usually be able to sieve out those who are experienced and have a dedicated team working with you, or not. Be specific - know what you want, or what you really don't like. It's good to communicate your likes and dislikes (e.g., if you really like subway tiles and/or neutral colours, like us) way ahead before the designer comes up with their suggestions. It will save time for everyone. Ask to check out work-in-progress or completed reno projects - this is to ensure that the quality of work is up to par. Be patient and keep positive always, this is Your Dream House!

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

What started out to be a relatively straight forward project soon became problematic with challenges! However regular contact and communications (even late at night due to my busy schedule) with project manager Alvin ensured that the job was not only completed to plan but and unforeseen problems resolved swiftly. Thing like relocating the floor trap to a revised location due to my individual preference; and this was also not on my original plan. I am especially grateful to Alvin for the way we coordinated your works with the other partners which was highly beneficial to the successful conclusion of this project.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

- to communicate regularly with your ID especially when there is any change in plan from what was discussed initially. - if you have a specific requirements, do a bit of research yourself so that you can consult your ID and make it to perfection.

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Yes, after sales service is very good. the designer is also very responsible and will attend to our needs. we had several occasions that we need to seek changes or help and response was very quick. A few cases to illustrate this experience, we had a leaking faucet in the ktichen basin, which we contacted the designer about it and the plumber was dispatched to us on the same night without extra cost being charged to us. The painter actually came to touch up on the paint on the walls 2 to 3 times because my wife was not satisfied with the paint work which the designer was nice to accommodate us. One of the wardrobe walls was found to be dented on the inside, after discussion with the carpentry workers, it was replaced free of charge. The TV was wall hanged by the designer himself with his own power tools and bracket purchased by us. kitchen cabinet was found to have some strange ants and the designer was prompt and came to look at it on the same week.

Discuss with the designer your expectations , dimensions, quality , duration before start work to avoid unhappiness. Expectation such as mirror placement in the dining room, whether you need any frame for the mirror, shape of the mirror , how the mirror are joined ( if using more than one piece), whether seamless or with a gap in between. Dimension such as the size of the mirror, ceiling fan ( whether 150cm or less than that). Electrical sockets placements in built in wall cabinets and wardrobes, , whether you need them to be placed on the wall or placed on the wardrobe itself. Dual way sockets for water heater switches are a must so that you don't have to walk out of bathroom dripping wet when you forgot to switch on the water heater because the heater switch is placed in the common bathroom toilet. It’s better to spend more money on the laminate for the internal parts of the wardrobe, don’t use the original white PVC laminate. Always follow-up with the progress of the renovation by visiting the site, discuss with the designer if you have any renovation works that is not up to your expectations.
