ID Firm:
Designer(s): Paul Chang
Budget: $50k - $60k
Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?
Paul is approachable and has a great sense of responsibility. He is able to design according to our needs. Although there is some hiccups here & there but we are able to move in comfortably within our set dateline. We have used this designer for our 3rd house. We have trust in him that he will be able to provide the best for our new house. Would definitely recommend him to others.
What advice would you give to future homeowners?
My advice to the future homeowners. Most importantly, you must know what you want for your new house. Set your own requirements & discuss with your designer so that he can design to your needs. Give them a schedule so that both can work towards it.

House Type: HDB 4-Room
ID Firm:
Designer(s): Stephen Lin
Budget: $30k - $40k
Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?
Yes surely! The ID is very professional in his work such as designing and drawing out in 3Ds for our previews. He is very ethical when comes to designing and will design the interior basing on what we need and not what he wants. He is very responsible and committed like taking the extra effort to personally travel on site to supervise contractors and close follow ups with us on any updates. After renovation was completed, he personally inspected all the renovation works and arranged for contractors to do final touch up and rectify all other problems if any.
What advice would you give to future homeowners?
Seek advice from ID on the renovation details and align with the ID what future furnitures homeowners require. This is to allow the ID to do a correct measurement to cater for future furnitures. Try not to push the ID for datelines too much as rushing a home renovation may not get the best results. Give the ID a little more time grace for better end results. If can afford, do not go for lower end quality as it may cost more for a future replacement. An intermediate to higher end quality actually saves more in the longer term as they tend to be more durable and lesser future problems.

House Type: HDB 3-Room
ID Firm:
Designer(s): Roman
Budget: $10k - $20k
Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?
Yes, obviously...In fact, I already recommended a few of my buddies to him. A great listener, very understanding and knowledgeable of the concept and especially the combination of colours matching the furnitures and walls in my house. Simply, a well talented designer for me and my family. 100% satisfied indeed!!!
What advice would you give to future homeowners?
Know your budget and stick with it. Get a few contractors to compare the prices before deciding. Go to the most recent house your contractor has done and see the workmanship for yourself and also to understand the latest trends.

House Type: HDB 5-Room/Exec/Mansionette
ID Firm:
Designer(s): Cai Wenhui
Budget: $90k and above
Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?
Wenhui understood what I wanted right from the start. She has a keen eye for details and would suggest alternatives especially if the choices (espeically colours) would not look good together. I gave her a pretty much free rein to give suggestions and her ideas fitted what I wanted really well. Her team worked really well together as well, especially for the tiling and the capentry. The painter gave me quite a bit of issues but were quickly resolved when I spoke to my ID. She's very responsive to queries and any defects or issues were quickly rectified. Overall, she gave very practical tips and ideas and advised me against anything that would be redundant or unnecessary.
What advice would you give to future homeowners?
Have a clear concept of what you want. Let your ID guide you in things that can and cannot be done. If you need to engage subcontractors for certain works, do let your ID know in advance and know what timeline we are working at. This is especially true if you are shipping things from overseas, e.g. Taobao, so that items can be shipped in time for installation to take place. If possible, get someone to be on site most of the time so as to pick up on issues early before it is too late.

House Type: HDB 4-Room
ID Firm:
Designer(s): Cai Wen Hui
Budget: $10k - $20k
Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?
Wen Hui showed that she is meticulous on numerous occasions. For example, she would accompany us to check the initial HDB defects when we got the keys and follow up with checking on the remedies done by HDB contractors. She is customer centric, as shown by her willingness to accommodate meeting us on weekends and late evenings. She listens to our needs and provides solutions for us, at the same time helping us to identify what is practical and what is not.
What advice would you give to future homeowners?
Get a good designer that you can trust. He/She will save you a lot of hassle when you renovate your dream home. Also renovate your home with a realistic and practical mindset, no point having something that looks nice but not practical. Always stick and be firm with the budget that you set aside for renovation, else costs will surely escalate quickly.

House Type: HDB 5-Room/Exec/Mansionette
ID Firm:
Designer(s): Roman
Budget: $90k and above
Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?
Yes. He's very hardworking. Pay attention to details of what we want and needed. Has lots of patience esp when we're being fussy and troublesome and creative ideas too. He has an innate flair of colour and spatial arrangememnts. He's a people person, people pleaser and able to work something out for us to be satisfied with the results. He is also able to work within the budget we gave him w/o compromising on quality of product and workmanship. when we feed back abt issues with the contractors he wld help to sound them out and work things out amicably. roman also went beyond the call of duty and assisted to be our middleman for our vendors whenever they had to come for instalaltion. we are able to trust roman and he wld oversee and ensure everything wld be done smoothly and well. Even after our reno and handover was done, we cld always reachout to him with any problems and he wld try his best to resolve it or provide recoomendations to us.
What advice would you give to future homeowners?
Never rush or do stuffs last min. and check properly esp with the workmanship of the outcome from the contractor. (The ID maybe be good...but the contractors might be lousy..so pls be sure and check properly). If Roman wold be your future ID, give him time and he'll show you wht hes capable of.
