House Type: HDB 5-Room/Exec/Mansionette

ID Firm:

Designer(s): Chally / Alson

Budget: $30k - $40k

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Yes, I will recommend this designer / renovation firm. They have decent workmanship and design with a really reasonable price tag. I will rate them highly for 'Value for Money' review. We have sourced over 7 IDs/Contractors and no one came close to their pricing. All of our visitors liked our design and was amazed by the cost. There were several issues /problems/delays that cropped up during the renovation which required our negotiation with the designer. Nevertheless, they were willing to rectify most issues to our satisfactory. I have recommended to many of my friends and at least one of them had engaged them as well.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Be very detailed in your design and measurement at the designing stage. Always double check the measurement provided by IDs to ensure it is exactly what you want. Be there personally during critical process such as the installation of carpentry works to inspect/monitor closely to avoid mistakes. Any rectification thereafter can be damaging already.

ID Firm:

Designer(s): Sebrina Foong

Budget: $30k - $40k

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Yes, I would recommend Atelier Concept to my relatives and friends. Sebrina, she is very responsible and update us regularly on the renovation progress. We have no worries about the renovation cause we can totally trust our project into her hands. Most issues she will resolved at her level without us involving too much.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

My advice to the future homeowners: - Ensure you discuss all the details with your designer before starting the renovation. - Ensure you set a realistic budget and stay with it. - Ensure you set a realistic renovation schedule and agreed by both you and the contractor. - Ensure communication between your ID and you regularly.

ID Firm:

Designer(s): Roy Tan

Budget: $30k - $40k

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

I was very impressed with Roys approach as he was more focus on our needs rather than the sale. He truly listened and came up with an overall design that suited us. I would definitely recommend him as this is why we get a designer. Someone to listen and advice on the best choices so we can make learned and informed decisions for ourselves.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Always meet a few IDs before you engage one. Most importantly make sure the ID is more interested in what you want rather -than throw sample designs and asks you to chose a similar idea. If thats their approach then we can just work directly with the carpenters and show them pictures we collated from online. A designer must put in efforts to customise to your needs and wants.

House Type: HDB 4-Room

ID Firm:

Designer(s): Roy Tan

Budget: $40k - $50k

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Roy is very attentive and has great foresight during our designing phase. He will listen to our ideas and provide us with valuable advises for the design. They offer high quality materials at very good price. Like with any construction works, it's common to have problems. But Roy always makes the effort to come on site to rectify these problems with the constructors, and ensure that we get the best outcome. He even help us to liaise with other product companies to get the installations done. Overall, we're very happy that we have engaged Atelier Concepts and have Roy to design and renovate our house. Highly recommended for others who are looking for a trustworthy and reliable ID to make your dream home possible.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

My advice for the future homeowners is do check thoroughly the contract and amendments. You do not want to find out that there are some ambiguity during your renovation. I had similar experience some of our renovation works were missed out in the quotation.

ID Firm:

Designer(s): Roy Tan

Budget: $30k - $40k

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

Honest about the materials. fast response to amend dissatisfied finished work, reliable on after sales service for repair defect that why not easy to detect. He sends whatsapp pics to update you on the progress of the works. Work very closely to the budget that was set. Materials that he selected is from reputable sources.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Avoid carpets at all cost unless you have a solid way of maintaining it. A well planned wiring for sockets and switches will save a lot of hassle on deciding who to turn off the lights. Propose dual switch for lights in bedroom. Data points is a good addition for bedrooms that is far from the initial source of WiFi.

House Type: HDB 3-Room

ID Firm:

Designer(s): Roy

Budget: $20k - $30k

Would you recommend this Interior Designer and why?

I was introduced to Atelier and her ID, Roy by my close friend. When I first met him with my friend, I felt he is easygoing and honest but professional. I admired his honesty because I was afraid that ID companies would kept saying how good and expert they were but they did not deliver. The theme I wanted was budget and simple, in fact, I had a Fengshui master to help out in renovation to bring better luck. Roy was very cooperative and even remind me to discuss with the Fengshui master with every changes we made. In the middle of renovating his own house, Roy never failed to keep me update of my house (thru afrew times, I got impatient and SMS him). He constantly help me to save; unlike some ID may just offer everything under the sun. Near ending of my renovation, he discovered that the toilet flushing system were not functioning, he didn't hide or ignore. Although we have some delays, he managed to get things done. Now I have moved in, I'm very happy with the end product and yes, I would recommend this interior designer.

What advice would you give to future homeowners?

Overall I found the work done by Atelier was good and I am happy with the way the renovation turned out. It was a 2-way collaboration such that I told them what ideas I had and they suggested designs accordingly. In particular, I really liked the way the kitchen and the built-in wardrobes were designed. Things turned out exactly what they promised. My kitchen sink was delayed for afew weeks and end up out of production. I thought there would be further delay the renovation process. Roy was helped to coordinate with the vendor and things turned out that I didn't have to wait for another week. That why, my advice I would give is that I strongly agree that all homeowners should put in a great amount of effort in communicating their design ideas to their IDs so that they are satisfied with the end result. After such a pleasant renovation experience, I have also recommended Atelier to some of my friends.
