HomeRenoGuru: How did you choose your interior design firm?

Benedict: I met Anthony in February for a consultation. I met him again one or two days later, then one or two hours later we closed the deal. He had charisma and we had a connection. He was also very determined and prompt.

HomeRenoGuru: What was your brief to your designer?

Browns and whites abound in this modern, simple Scandinavian-inspired home

Benedict: We wanted a modern, simple Scandinavian design, with lots of whites and browns and a little bit of black. We wanted a home for the future, not just for the present.

Nabilah: We also wanted a house that was safe for the kids and easy to clean. So less is more.

HomeRenoGuru: How did you find the renovation process?

Benedict: I found the renovation process very fast, very efficient. Anthony was very accommodating. He said, “As a designer, you engage me – I do the job for you. And you’ll have less things to worry about, because you have your family, you have your work and so on.” He was very understanding.

Nabilah: He kept updating us every single day. We checked every three days or so, not because we were anxious but because we were curious.

Benedict: The thing that surprised me was that he accomplished everything in one month!

HomeRenoGuru: What are your favourite features of your renovated home?

The living room features a floor-to-ceiling built-in cabinet with glass alcoves and LED spotlights to showcase the couple’s collection of Liverpool FC memorabilia and other collectibles

Benedict: My favourite part of my home is of course my living room. It has this full feature wall with storage and glass, with beautiful LED lights. I think the living room is the heart of our house.

Nabilah: I like my kitchen. It has a full wall-height cabinet with lots of storage. The cabinets have no handles, which is great for us, because it keeps the kids away and also lessens damages.

Amelia: I like my bedroom because my bed is so comfortable.

Aymeric: I love my bedroom. I like to play with my cars in there.

Frosted glass panels keep the contents neat and the homeowners disciplined

Benedict: I also love our bedroom, especially the frosted glass panels on the doors. You can see exactly what you have and what you don’t have. It keeps us very disciplined.
