What is included in our 3 room renovation packages?

Our 3 room home renovation packages are suitable for both BTO and resale flats.

Most of our IDs have packages that include the following:

Flooring

Flooring involves the installation of floor coverings such as carpets or tiles.

Factors affecting the cost of flooring include (but are not limited to):

  • type of material used
  • extent of floor area covered

Carpentry

Carpentry refers to the building of customised furniture such as cabinets and closets.

Factors affecting the cost of carpentry work include (but are not limited to):

  • type of materials used
  • size of furniture
  • amount of manual labour required

Feature Wall

A feature wall is a wall in your room that differs in colour, design and texture from the surrounding interior. It is also known as an accent wall.

Factors affecting the cost of a feature wall include (but are not limited to):

  • surface area of the wall being customised
  • complexity of the design
  • type of materials used

Plumbing

Plumbing involves the fitting of pipes, tanks and valves for equipment such as bathroom fittings.

Factors affecting the cost of plumbing include (but are not limited to):

  • amount of labour required
  • type of materials used

Electrical Wiring

Electrical wiring refers to the installation of electrical devices such as switches, sockets and distribution boards.

Factors affecting the cost of a false ceiling include (but are not limited to):

  • size of ceiling being built
  • type of material used

Factors affecting the renovation cost of a 3 room HDB

Several factors affect the renovation cost of a 3 room HDB flat. Some of these factors may also lead to additional costs for renovation packages.

Extent of renovation

The cost of renovation is largely dependent on the extent of renovation work required for your home makeover.

You can use our renovation calculator to get a more accurate approximate of the renovation cost of your 3 room HDB flat.

BTO vs resale

It is generally more expensive to renovate a resale flat than a BTO.

Resale flats are usually bigger and older, and this means that more materials have to be used and more renovation work has to be done.

Type of interior design theme

The type of interior design theme you choose for your home will affect the cost of your renovation.

Some themes may be more expensive than others as they require more carpentry work, electrical wiring, and wall hacking among other services.

Type of materials used

Refurbishing your house with higher quality materials will definitely cost more than if you were to use standard materials.

For example, when it comes to flooring, vinyl and laminate are the cheapest while hardwood and marble are the most expensive types.

The type of materials used is also heavily dependent on the theme of your interior design.

Factors to consider when choosing an interior designer

Portfolio of the ID

When choosing an ID, it is best to check out their past projects to see if you like their work. It will be easier if you have already decided on what theme you want for your house beforehand as most IDs specialise in a few themes.

Reviews by past clients

It is important to read through the past reviews left by clients regarding the IDs. Doing so can allow  you to better visualise what it will be like to work with them.

Your budget

Everyone sets aside a different budget when it comes to renovating their home.

Ideally, you should gather a few quotations from various IDs for comparison purposes. Thereafter, you can make a more informed decision on which one best suits your needs while keeping within your budget.

Ease of communication

Easy communication between you and your ID helps to smoothen the entire process. You must be comfortable communicating your ideas with them while ensuring they understand all your needs and concerns.
